Ma'at was described as a women wearing an ostrich feather on her head.She wore a white robe,even though it shows or says other colors,wings,i honestly do not know what color they really were,and she carried an ankh,which is the key of life,or the key of the Nile.Controlling the stars and the flooding of the Nile River.She is the daughter of the sun god Ra,the wife of Thoth,and mother of Reauti.Her name really,truly,and honestly does mean "truth" in Egyptian.Ma'at was reality,the solid grounding of reality that made the sun rise,the stars shine,the river flood,and mankind think,so thought the Egyptians.The universe itself,all the world around them in the ancient views.Ma'at's date from the Old Kingdom was oh about 2,870-2,250.The only known temple,that they have found so far, dedicated to Ma'at,which appears in the Karnak complex at Thebes (Luxor).

Ma'at in the Egyptian form

Ma'at unlike Hathor,and Nephthys,seemed to be more of a concept than an actual goddess.She was the goddess of truth,justice,balance,order,and harmony.She was associated wit the balance of things on Earth.Ma'at was harmony,she was what was right,she was what things should be,so thought the Egyptians.It was thought that without Ma'at the universe would be chaos,once again!!!The Egyptians knew that the universe,that everything in the universe,worked on a pattern all because of Ma'at.The dead person's heart was weighed by Ma'at herself, well the feather she wore,and Thoth.It was Thoth who weighed the heart against Ma'ta's feather.They say the scale is even called either the Ma'at scale or the weighing of the heart.She was really the most important goddess of them all.Egypt was then to see that they were absolutely nothing without Ma'at!

If i were to make a temple for Ma'at it would be right in the center of Egypt,since the legend says that they probably would of been nothing without her! It would be made of of stone.The colors will be white and other soft colors,since she was not wild and crazy,she was calm and relaxed. The temple would be the longest temple there is in Egypt.When you walk into it there will be statues of her,her feather,her scale,and some other stuff that she did when she was goddess.Then there will be a long tunnel and on the walls it will say in Egyptian writing every thing that she accomplished while she was goddess,what her role was,what she taught the Egyptians,and about her and her life.Then in the very back will be a big door that will take you to her tomb,and all around her tomb will be gold,jewelry,and important stuff that belonged to her.There will be more statues of her and maybe a few statues of her family.This will need lots of workers and lots of hard work and time! It will be the best temple for the most important goddess!!!
